When I was in college I had a pair of bell bottoms I wore ALL THE TIME. Until I sat in paint then I wore them less but still pretty often. I have been looking for a good pair the last 10 plus years. It is hard when you are short. If you get regular ones and hem them then the bells don't flair the right amount and they don't break on your leg in the right way. Also petite REASONABLE priced bells are impossible to find. These are full length ones that I have faked hemmed 5 inches but they seemed to break still in a good spot. I have those hem clips on them until I can decide how long I want to hem them. I am thinking with about a 3 inch heels. I just am not totally crazy about bells with flats on my body type at least. But I also don't want to stick myself with always having to wear huge heels. They are from Gap. They are on the sale rack right now. The only thing I will warn is they stretch like crazy. These are 8/29s and I could of done a 28 or maybe a 27 (wishful thinking?) I think. One day wear and they were at least a size or two larger. So keep that in mind if you want to pick up a pair. Ideally I want them to be tighter in the thigh and huge bells below the knee. I like them to be a bit on the ridiculous side. I realized you couldn't see my feet after I took these so I snuck a silly video. I set the camera up and ran down the left side aisle and hopped no one heard me. (the pants are NOISY!)

I hear it was a good year.

In an effort to try new things. I am wearing bronzer! I am still not fan of it straight up on my skin in particular but this I mixed with pink and I like it.

Yesterday was Star Wars day. May the 4th be with you. *insert knee slap* Honestly for a very long time I was embarrassed to have been named after it. I thought it was cheesy. Then I got the hell over myself and learned how much I love some sci-fi. Now I like telling people to see the confused face as they do the math in their heads to see if I am lying. Yup it came out in 1977. I was born in 1988. urp. subtract 10. (shut up)
Dave and I have become the biggest Doctor Who fans. I was a 4th dr fan as a kid with my dad (who wasn't though?) Then with the new series I really like Matt Smith (11th) but David Tennat (10th) will always be my fave. I just love him. I told my friend Steve he reminded me of him and he didn't appreciate it. I thought it was the ultimate compliment. Tennant is my kinda man. Insanely smart, funny, quirky, cute, BRITISH I mean come ON! Also him and Rose and the current with Amy are my fave duos. I think they are most fans aren't they? I am still not big into sci-fi I am working into it slowly. Warehouse 13 is another fave.

Are you a sci fi fan? Recommend something? Favorite Doctor?

Do you have comcast cable and an iphone (how very specific right?)When we were in NYC last weekend we realized we'd be getting in at 12 and missing that weeks Who. We didn't set the DVR but we hadn't turned it off. If you get the comcast app on your iphone you can change the channel ANYWHERE so you just have to rewind the DVR when you get home (we JUST made it. The DVR is 3 hours so we rewound just in time to start the 9 pm Who episode that was on Saturday night.

I dried them this weekend I am hoping it helped shrink them up. I wish I'd known before I might of skipped them. I like to get a bunch of wears before they are way too big. WHY do they do that??

I have seen them at Forever 21 in the years since I got it. I believe it was either $14.95 or $19.95 it is cropped though so if it seems short that is how it is mean to be. (I wish it wasn't)

I've watched some Dr Who but not enough to know "Who's Who" (hah...) I do like sci fi though, the only thing I can think to recommend at the moment is Serenity / Firefly.

Here's a confession for you - every time I see you post an outfit with this blue jacket all I can think of is ways I wish I could steal it from you. I've been on a constant lookout - todays shopping trip included (though I do finally have a pair of red shoes! :D )

Dude, love the sci fi around here, except for the whole Battlestar nightmares episode, of course. my residence floor at university was all addicted to Next Generation and we used to crowd around our little tv to watch tv. The guys never could understand our Patrick Stewart fixation.

I absolutely love that shade of blue on you.

I can attest - the Hamlet with David Tennant and Patrick Stewart is actually pretty good. You know I've probably watched about 8 zillion versions - but I really liked David Tennant's interpretation of Hamlet.

Love those bell bottoms! I had a pair I lived in in college, too. Unfortunately, that was several sizes ago...The keys are wonderful, too.

Hillary, I love the way you wear those flares! I have a pair of the exact same one you have from the Gap and YES... they stretch like crazy! I highly recommend sizing down as well!

I've actually been in a bit of a rut trying to style the flares as my body type is slightly challenging to dress in pants (I wear dresses regularly), but you certainly can't go wrong with a tailored jacket!

Thanks for this post!

my brother used to watch the old 60s and 70s Dr Who episodes, but it wasnt my thing.

hubby got me into watching (it officially fell in love at the Weeping Angels episode) and now im addicted.

David Tennant it my original Doctor, so he will probably always be my favorite. and Martha Jones was my favorite companion for him. hubbys favorite is Tom Baker.

i didnt like Matt Smith at first, but i LOVE the relationship between him, Amy, Rory, and River Song. im not sure i would like him as much on his own, but i love all of them together.

thanks to hubby, i am also learning all the necessary comic info (DC Comics and Marvel). and thanks to BBC America, i am also addicted to the show Being Human. (but only the BBC version. the american version is awful.)

Very cute jeans. I'm of the mind that finding good fitting pants is an impossible task. I have a pair laying on the bed right. now. to be hemmed.

I adore scifi (and fantasy!). I'm currently watching a Stargate SG-1 marathon on Syfy. Sherlock BBC! Seriously, if you haven't seen it - go now. Not sci-fi but definitely awesomesauce. Season 2 should be coming out soonish. Oh and the main actor (Benedict Cumberbatch) was offered to work on Dr.Who, but didn't.

As for sci-fi to try, Star Trek 2009 and Next Gen can usually get people into it. The Original Series is a little lol cheesy imo. Stargate SG-1 is my favored of the series, but watch the original movie first. The series is set right after those events so it helps build the ground work. The series is also 10 seasons @_@! I've heard good things about Firefly but haven't seen it myself. Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy! Both the movie and the books are remarkably awesome. I could probably go on, but maybe some of that will appeal to you.

I am a *huge* Doctor nerd and have been for years. So glad you are too! I knew I kept coming back here for a reason. ;)

Gotta say though that Matt is pretty awesome as the Doctor. I was surprised! I didn't think he had it in him! I miss David but at least I'm not bored with Matt. My favorite companion by far is Donna Noble. Oh no one compares to Donna!

I love the way the bronzer and pink mixes together! I've been working on the bronzer thing, but I'm so pale I get timid with my brush. Still loving the dark hair!

We're huuuuuuuge Doctor Who fans! We even have a TARDIS (ok, a small USB port version) in our living room. I dig Matt Smith, but Tennant is MY doctor. Though, really-who doesn't love Tom Baker? I've been a lifelong Star Wars fan, but Star Trek appeals more. Star Trek: The Next Generation seriously was one of the coolest things ever. Oo, there's a movie version of "Hamlet" starring David Tennant and Patrick Stewart!

Yes! I follow him on twitter (W.W.) . I'll add that series to the list, but honestly the list is more like a scattered smattering in my brain. Lol! I literally just had a friend drop by season 1 of Being Human for me to watch. I'm still trying to finish Ashes to Ashes (sequel series to UK's Life on Mars). The semester's up though so hopefully I can start plowing through my List, which will hopefully contain more sci-fi.

I grew up more on "fantasty" series being a child of the 90s with the whole Xena/Charmed/Highlander. So I'm trying to back track to pick up the Sci-fi stuff.

Huge sci fi fan---I am so happy the new Doctor Whos finally started up. Favorite Dr. is a toughie---I actually really liked Christopher Eccleston and vowed I would hate David Tennant but ended up falling so hard for his version of the doctor. Favorite Companion was Sarah Jane closely followed by Martha Jones.

Recommendation--cheesy but fun for a sci fi fan, I loved the movie Paul about the alien with Simon Pegg. It was so hilarious. I read a lot of Sci fi as well. If you are not familiar with Dan Simmons, his Hyperiorn and the Endymion books are amazing.

This might be a bit early for you but Seagate 2032 with Jonathan Brandis. I was so in love with him. I wrote him a fan letter and got one back with a photo. I was so upset when I found out he died.

And wil Wheaton?! Nerd-out! I adore him.

Oh I should also mention I haven't made the foray into the Dr. Who world yet. I want to, very much, but it's daunting to me. I have so much backlog of stuff to watch, read and play!
