Camera Roll-2101

Shirt is semi familiar right? I have a red one that is kinda similar but not the same from last year.

IMG_0801

They are both striped, cotton and cinched waist. The new one has elastic over a tie waist, bigger ruffles isn't a button up like the red one. Red and Navy are such staples in my wardrobe the past few years.

I have had these jeans 15 days and wore them 12 times. Yup. I wore them to work everyday for a week. Hey I sit all day, I don't really do anything to muss them up. No one noticed and if they did they didn't say anything. (they usually don't have issues speaking up either) The back pockets are quite distinct which is something I usually avoid. I have to be honest, I had them for a week before I realized they were 7's on the pocket.

There is no good way to show your back side and not feel silly, really.

Camera Roll-2105

I went with the obvious pairing with red lips, garnet red earrings, garnet red ring and shoes and socks.

5.3.11 nude polish

I have been painting my nails as long as I have hand dexterity. From years of it my nails are always stained. I've tried it all and it's just something I've learned to deal with. I know I could go polish free and grow them out but then I have to walk around with stained nails. I am way too prissy for that. I found the solution. Nude polish! Love. I am going to have to tell Gram because she's been painting hers 50 years longer than me and has the same stain issue.

My favorite go to bangles.

I've kavitzed (is that a word?) about my sensitive skin ad nauseam over the years. With my cruelty free pledge when I needed to replace some items I had to branch out and try new things. I went with Clarins this time. Cruelty free and no harsh chemicals. Saks was also having a sale so it was the perfect time to try something a bit more spendy. They also gave me some obscenely large samples. (4 oz bottles!!!!!)

It has only been since Saturday but so far my skin is SO HAPPY. I can't even tell you how improved it is in the few days.I am not wearing any foundation. Just concealer under my eyes. I am still red but it is much improved. I got two things. This toner which you can use to clean and tone. Then I got this serum. . My skin hasn't been oily at the end of the day and the texture is much smoother.

This weekend we went to NYC because Dave had a business meeting in New Jersey.  It was kinda last minute and we didn't have plans because we didn't know how long he'd be in NJ. It was a great little free vacation. (I even had a coupon for my train tix! It was totally free for me to go, I just had to feed myself.) His boss is the one who suggested I go. I am glad I did, We had a fantastic time. Also gluten free in NYC is insane.

Few highlights.

We went here in October. It's worth checking out for sure.

Gruyere and slab bacon GF Mac and Cheese. AMAZING.

Best mac and cheese ever.

I literally chased a guy and girl down the street to ask where they got the bag of Macarons they were holding.

How cute is my husband!

Dave looked sharp too. I got his shirt and tie at TJ Maxx.  Pants from Banana Republic (I paid $18 for $90 pants recently. Their men's sales are so much better than the woman's)

Jacket was Pop's. It even has elbow patches.

elbow patches!

It looks great with jeans and a button up too.

handsome traveling clothes

Sunday we went for a drive up to Marblehead, Nahant, Salem and Beverly MA and we found a bakery in Beverly with gluten free goodies.

Cassis in Beverly all this is gluten free

You know I only show you a part of things right? There was plenty of veggies and other healthy stuff. Hell I even lost weight this weekend! I came home almost 4 lbs lighter. Weight Watchers makes you hyper aware of what you consume. I still track daily. (Since Oct 26th 2006) My mom and I were just talking about this and she agreed who wants to see that stuff? I certainly don't, yet it doesn't keep some people from flapping their gums assuming they know. I had a full workup recently. I am alarmingly healthy. (alarmingly because as a born anemic at times I can fall very low on things) Best part? My health insurance gave me a $100 gift card for finding out my numbers! Score.(see if your insurance does it. Mine never advertised it before now, I've missed out)

As you noticed I kinda of went off grid for awhile. I could apologize or give an explanation but yeah I don't feel like it.  *shrug*. I am fine, family is too. Everything is fantastic actually. I've had this site 9 years. It is all ebb and flow. Sometimes are more quiet than others.

How are you doing? How was your weekend?
We have been booked the past 4 weekend am going to be until June then July we start back up again. Busy summer but it is all exciting stuff. My sil is moving back, family vacation to Canada, Dave graduating!! Gram coming to the city, MY MOM COMING TO VISIT!!!!!!!!!!! My mom hasn't been here in 6 years. (except for the past couple funerals)

Love the red argyle socks! Too cute. You both look very snazzy, and the food looks amazingly delish. I want a mini-cupcake now.

Also re: the lame troll comments - Just ignore them. 1. Your Hello Kitty stuff is adorable. 2. You're too awesome to let them get you down. 3. Haters gonna hate some thing somewhere, they're just using the internet because they can hide behind it. Don't let 'em get to ya, if they do. I'll beat 'em up. ;D

Yay! I always miss you when you don't post.
I haven't been to NYC since I was 14 - when H and I finally make the trip I will be getting your tips on where to eat. That mac and cheese looked so good!
I like your new shirt. xo

I absolutely do not believe you eat vegetables (and corn and potatoes don't count). Sure, you may stay within your points, but you can eat a ton of cake and crap (which you do) and not go over.

ha I know the song you mean but don't know the words. yes I think those are a denim company too. yeah my parents sold the spec house. The one that they've had on the market complete and empty for 5 years. Oh it was so stressful! Especially since it was robbed 3 times and they stole pipes and the BRANDS NEW central AC twice. what a nightmare.

I asked you the other day about your 7 jeans. I was so clueless. It wasn't until afterward that I remembered that they were featured in "My Humps"...

Seven Jeans, True Religion's,
I say no, but they keep givin'

I guess True Religions are also jeans?

Such glad tidings that your mom is coming to town!

that is exactly it. Nudes were always way too sheer to actually wear if you have any sort of staining. These are nice and opaque. It's 220 if that helps.

Having lost a nail before I know what you mean! oy.

I'm looking for some polish like that! Seems like the stuff intended for french tip manicures (the base color) is always too sheer. I'll check out Target this week.

Perhaps, TMI, but I'm going to need nude polish after running a marathon on Sunday. I'm set to lose a few toenails and the missing nails look a little less obvious if the remaining nails are NOT bright red/fuchsia/blue/etc!

ha don't tell anyone but they are my school's socks. I had painful shoes one day and went to bookstore and bought them. They have a big ol logo on side but luckily the rest kinda matches my stuff!

Glad to see you back to blogging! I was afraid that the only time I would "hear" from you would be facebook & twitter. I don't facebook all that much. I usually just keep up to date with everyone else.

I missed you! Glad everything's okay. Gluten-free in NYC is awesome. I love that mac&cheese place and insist on going almost every time I visit home. There's also an AMAZING (to me) Chinese/Asian GF place in midtown, really close to my parents'. Mmmm...

His boss is awesome. She is who gave us Waffle! Her cat Fig is Waffle's mommy.

Lucky duck! Dave's boss is awesome to just have you be his business trip companion. Looks like it was a fun time, too. My bf was in the city on Saturday (prepped Friday, recovered Sunday) so I was left on my lonesome. That means I did pretty much nothing as I'm awful at entertaining myself. I get to go see my friends tonight, though, so I suppose all is well with the world.
