You might remember this skirt Kimberly wore last week. Between the mermaid pleating, the back zipper and insanely good price of $14.90 I had to have it Find it here. They still have this color available in lot of sizes. I ordered it from HSN ( I don't buy clothes online often unless I have tried it on so this was a pure crap shoot) For reference I went up a size and got a 10. (I am an 8 at Gap, Loft and Ann Taylor, A 6 at NY&Co) I wanted to be safe and turns out the material has no give so I am thankful I did. I googled and got a free shipping code and 3% back on ebates. I didn't quite realize how shimmery it would be in person. I love it but I found it hard to pair with things. Apparently I don't own any plain black winter appropriate tops anymore except turtlenecks. I tried on at least 8 combination of things last night. This was the last one I tried. I usually have a hard time pairing two colors together and default to black or brown. Between the shimmer, bold cut and color I just was perplex at what in my closet would match it.I usually do that "make 3 outfits" thing in my head to see if there are three ways to wear it but this time I totally just bought it and prayed for the best. This darker olive ton I think goes nice with the shimmery fuchsia.

I got this necklace a few weeks ago at Forever 21 for $1.50. It's gold with pink. Apparently Waffle thinks it is for kittens. She does love a cupcake after all.

Whoo Lush bag! I love that skirt on you and on Kimberly. This is the second time I have almost been convinced to get one for myself. I probably would have if it were still available in black. I also really don't like Twiggy (which I guess goes better with your boycotting post, maybe I boycot Twiggy)

im glad im not the only one who is all mummied up when i have to go outside in the cold! the only skin that shows on my is the space from my nose to my chin. everything else gets covered up.

ive been thinking of picking up some products from Lush because several bloggers (mainly you!) have raved about them. but when i walk past the store in the mall, all the fragrance make it impossible for me to breathe -- how do you get past that? i feel like i would have to hold my breath the entire time im in the store.
anywho, what products would you recommend? i was thinking of picking up a few bath bombs, since ive heard amazing things about them...

It might not be the store for you. Most things are fragranced and despite my manly allergies I use many things from there without issue. I think it's that I'm allergic to synthetic fragrances? Dunno. Two products I swear by and don't have a strong fragrance. Buffy bar and ocean salt. Buffy bar is a bar of gritty soap with butters in it. It's the weirdist thing the first few times you use it. I'm horrified to admit this and don't want it google crawled but due to pantene and heat I had a horrific ba.cn.e and body issue and it's the only thing that made it clear right up. Ocean salt is a face scrub made from
Vodka and salt and it's AMAZING. Use every fee face washes as an exfoliator. I jut bought a second tub I emptied my first since Xmas. I'd eat if I thought I could. They'll make a sample of anything for you too!!

You've style the skirt fabulously! I love how the ensemble is just as interesting from the back as from the front :)

Stop. It. I can't believe how CUTE that skirt is on you!!! Oh my gosh, I love it!

Okay, so not that my opinion was requested but I think it would look great with a black and white striped top, or a yellow top, or turquoise, or even red. Yep. My two cents. For whatever that's worth, which might not even been two cents.

Anyway...

Come take a look inside A Working Mom's Closet

I totally tried on a striped top and Dave said the lines of the shirt was fightin with the lines on the skirt. I should of made him take a picture so I could assess. I don't own yellow top :( I need more yellow.

Oooh that's a super cute skirt, I think you'll find more to go with it over time. Especially once it warms up! I never thought of those layered skirts as mermaidy but now that you mention it - they just became that much cooler!

youve got me sold on at least trying it out. im not allergic to any fragrances (that i know of) and usually scented items dont bother me. i dont think their individual items would pose an issue for me, but its just the powerful combination of everything in the store the overwhelms my senses. usually, hubby + i make a point to walk on the opposite side of the mall so we dont have to walk past the opening of the store, its that strong.
but for good products, i can suck it up.
thanks for the info, lady! :)

Love the hat you are wearing in the picture Dave took. What a great find that skirt is, and it fits! Stuff never fits me right if I buy it online...I have to know the measurements .

What a beautiful skirt! I'm also wary of buying online...glad it worked out for you! I can see it being a great summer skirt as well.

I really love the exposed zipper on the skirt! I think you've styled it quite well, and I can't wait to see how else you style it in the future.
