They are the "Matilda" by Bass. (some may know me as MissMatilda which was my online name for years. It is also what my mom calls me)

This weekend was great. We were those nuts who attempted to get an iPad Friday. We weren't even there at opening we went at 7pm and tried. It was a fun experience, the sales people walked around the blocks with cookies and drinks and everyone had a great attitude. People walking by would say nasty things. Seriously I saw no less than 100 people be complete assholes to the people in line as they walked by. The people in line all got along great and were excited when their waiting paid off. Everyone who walked out of the store had great bigi drank the koolaid smiles.

The girls love it too.

We also made the most amazing tortilla gumbo thingy last night.

photo

Kinda winged it from a few recipes to our taste.
Stewed tomatoes, green chilies, black beans, brown rice, sprinkle of cheddar, grilled chicken, toasted corn tortilla, sour cream

How was your weekend? What did you eat and do?

Saturday we went for a walk and turned around and came home pretty quickly due to the crowds doing St.Partick's Day pub crawls. Gah. Drunks abounds. I did get this shirt at Banana Republic.

Thank you I wish the skirt was olive it's a boring brown. But now I'm gonna make a hot pink and olive outfit from your idea!

Those shoes are fantastic! Bad attitudes towards people in line, not so fantastic. I never could figure out why people need to be jerks like that. Same with when we were in line waiting on Harry Potter. I mean, I know I can be a wench, but only when it's called for!

My weekend was pretty low key. I watched a lot of CSI and then went to Mohegan Sun casino on Sunday for a Lush run. It was obnoxiously crowded for a Sunday afternoon (I'm used to the normal casino crowd, but I could barely even get in the doors at Lush) I made a mad dash for part of what I wanted (what I needed) most and then right back out again.

Sweet! I love all the pink. I haven't had much luck with fusing stuff. I end up just running a basic straight stitch if I need a quick hem. I haven't done any skirts before though.

Sweet kitties with ipads! Hubs wants one, but we just bought him a laptop.

I spent the weekend uber busy. I went and bought a bike! Which I'm excited to start riding once the weather warms up just a bit more. I ate lots of chili and cornbread that I made. Also lots of veggies. I also started watching Life on Mars (UK version).

Ooooh I love the brown and pink combo! The pops of bring pink look so fabulous. And that shirt... it's amazing. Secret butterfly inside-cuffs and collar lining??? Ingenious.

My weekend was wonderful! Slept in everyday, caught up on the DVR, cooked pasta dinner with Nic on Saturday(fettucine with sauteed broccoli, mushrooms, and garlic with vodka sauce + steamed jumbo artichokes), had a delicious spanish casserole/stewy thing over homemade spanish rice at a friend's house so we could meet her new lady, cleaned our apartment (it was overdue like whoa), and just hung OUT.

I hate to be demanding, but I am ITCHING to know how the shellac came off?! I'm waiting for your final review before going for it... but so far I'm impressed and wanna try it!

Totally agree! I love pink and brown together, and that shirt is sooo cute, with the contrasting cuff. LOVE.

Flowers - how have I not considered flowers yet? I have a cardigan I keep at the office, but always feel bad putting it on because I usually think it doesn't look blended with the outfit. Your flower on it looks fabulous!

And I'm so jealous of your spring-like wardrobe! The weather here hasn't quite decided what it was going to do (we were supposed to be above freezing all weekend, then - surprise - we had a blizzard).

Ooh we keep talking about mohegan sun. I think were going to go eventually!! I adore lush!

Dave got a laptop in September too. Mine has been having issues and while I was syncing it was being such a brat!!! Chili and cornbread are one of my favorite combos.

We cleaned too. Mostly went through stuff we needed to get rid of. Way more to go but it's getting there! Shellac final review has just been posted just for you :)

Thanks!

Yeah it's not warm here yet either. It snowed today. Not accumulation but there was snow. I was freezing despite tights, pettipants and a heavy suede skirt, cami, long sleeve shirt and hoodie.

I told my coworker the flower is to "class it up"

If you have to pick between Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, I like Mohegan better. I'm honestly there way too much (shopping and eating) Foxwoods is bigger and brighter, but I don't like any of their shops and their restaurants are kind of meh (especially lacking in vegetarian options)

Boring food but good blogger conference for the weekend for me. Love that little skirt.

Gorgeous shirt!

did you do the texas one?

Love the shamrock bangle! Don't much appreciate your experience with assholery. You can feel that something is foolish, but why does that allow you to be mean spirited?

My big weekend news was that I took my first yoga class. I stuck out like a sore thumb. Oh well, I'm gonna try it for my own benefit, and hang what others say.

hillary said...

good for you for going to yoga. Its a odd experience at first (especially hot yoga) but i think it has a lot of benefits

thats the thing. Why make fun of others who want an ipad if you dont want one. They were downright nasty to people in line. WHY is that ok?

thanks

You're making me want to try shorter skirts again. And I love all the pink. It's perking me right up.

H and I went to the art gallery, had hamburgers out (always a treat), and a long, long walk with hot chocolate at the end. And then on Sunday we worked on the new bathroom - well, H did and I sewed curtains. It was a nice weekend.

I am jealous of the ipad - I have to wait a little while longer.

i have to say I didn't realize it was short in the morning at home. I got to work and realized how short it was and was quietly tugging all day.

the only reason I even partially validated it was because our tax return. the rest goes right into the piggy bank. I have to say though my computer has been a huge bitch and this is no joke u5039820 faster and I've done all my blogging on it the past few days. business expense? ha.

hillary said...

I just love this color palette, and you're right that it's perfectly mirrored in those oxfords!

hillary said...

That's what is stopping us from getting one right now. We have to take a tax hit this year - no nice money back, sigh. Hopefully I will be able to get one in the summer.

It doesn't look short from here, but I know that feeling. I was thinking about sewing a skirt with a slightly fuller bottom and ending it about two inches above the knees (to wear with tights). I thrifted some amazing fine cotton from the 60s I want to use. I will line it in cotton, but I have a short slip in rayon so the tights don't make it climb up my legs.
