makeup detail?

I watched a few YouTube videos last night and was inspired to try something slightly newish with my makeup. I really really need to work on my skills makeup wise and photographing them. I am totally inspired by Tiffanyd. She always has such great photos and tutorials. I watched one in particular she did with a Hello Kitty from MAC palette. I used the technique she used but with different colors. (I do happen to own the Hello Kitty palette too actually) I used Pink Opal pigment from MAC and Twilight pigment from Lime Crime. The pink is over entire lid and on lower lash line in the inside half. I did the purple on the outer corner, crease and lower lash line half way across. I used a plum gel liner on upper lid, plum mascara and Urban Decay in 1999 on waterline. It needs work but I like where it is going.

Do you watch things on YouTube? What do you watch if you do?
I forget about it for months at a time but there are only three things I watch. Kitten videos, Makeup Tutorials and Music Videos from my high school years or new rap songs.Once in awhile I will search for a hairstyle I want to do as well.

i really like your monochromatic look! it's got so many little fun details!

i like watching music videos on youtube too or odd things like a four-handed bluegrass guitar lady gaga cover.

Thank you for the diagram. I am slowly learning to appreciate your skill even more. Like a lot of things, you can't understand the ability needed until you learn about it.

Holy wow, I missed this reply. I always admire women's ability to self-apply makeup, but this is truly a makeup artist!

I made you a chart!

The two blues I used the same color a soft pinky white loose powder.
The two yellows are the same color a purple loose powder
I don't usually use the lid colors on the bottom

The orange is a burgundy liner pencil just on the very inner rim of my lower eyelid

the red is a plum gel that I used and just ran along against the lashes and did a little flickr at the eye to pull my eye "up" (visual trick)

So the interesting bit is at your tear duct and corner of your eye, where the upper and lower colours meet? You are so clever!

I bet Waffle could be hilariously simple like Maru. I love the understated and simple design of the videos. It really highlights silly Maru. This week's, where Maru plays with paper, reminds me of the simple joy of watching an infant open Christmas presents and then playing with the paper.

For example. I love this look http://makeupbytiffanyd.blogspot.com/2011/01/fun-blue-purple-makeup.html

See how the two colors blend into one another? I really want to recreate this look with these colors. It is a bit advanced for me but I am going to practice.

Think of painting a canvas. It is kinda just like that but on your face.

Well I do both. How I do it. Say I have a bright blue shadow I have and want to wear. I will either search for that color name and see what pops up or I will just browse through some videos and see if something strikes my fancy. This time I specifically looked up the hello kitty 4 color palette and I I liked the technique she used to blend the colors she used so I tried to recreate it today but with different colors that matched my outfit. Now I will probably go and recreate the look she did with the exact same products (that didnt match what I wore today)

Its different because she put 2 eyeshadows on her bottom lid below her eye and and I usually keep it just on the top. The brushes she used for her blending technique created a bit more of a blend than I usually able to do. I have a hard time putting two colors next together and getting them to blend inbetween very well. I am seeking our more videos on doing just that.

I LOVE maru!

Love the makeup~ Fabulous blue monochrome outfit.

I use youtube for kitten videos, music, finding deleted scenes/goof scenes to movies I love, tutorials of all kinds. I have a weird fascination with Michelle Phan. Even her not so good make up sets, I like listening to her. She's got a good voice for video. I wish I wore more makeup/nail polish so I would have reason to watch tuts.

I love the blues here! I tend to watch Eddie Izzard sketches on YouTube.

I thought myself how to fishtail braid. Last year off of YouTube! So handy I bring my phone into bathroom and stand at mirror and tried

Thanks I've impatiently been growing it for going on four years.

I agree the videos are much too long but I am seriously lacking in technique.

I love the monochromatic blue. You look so pretty! I know I've said this before, but seriously, I love your hair. A lot.

Good blending! I like those colors a lot.

I actually stay away from Youtube. I find it easier to just look at pictures of a makeup look and recreate the look in my own way. The videos just take too long for my very short attention span anyway. The last thing I watched on Youtube was Josh Groban singing Kanye West tweets, though. That one was hilarious.

I wish I did speak french!

very pretty! I never thought of going on youtube for makeup or hair tutorials, I should definitely try that. I usually go on to listen to music, watch old music videos, or find tv show clips. my advisor sends me science videos that he's found!

Oh yeah, I do watch make up tutorial on youtube. Actually I watch her makeup tutorial: http://beaute-blog.blogspot.com/ I hope you speak french!
Also if you don't already know about it, check out talking kitty (http://www.youtube.com/user/stevecash83). It's funny and he is up to episode 15!
