Monday on a Tuesday

I missed my optimal window of taking a picture without anyone in the library today. Never fear lots of details are here!!!

I just wore this outfit but with a black and white tank and a teal sweater.

1.7.11

I matched my socks to my tank. How is that for matching! Neither of which you can see because they are both hidden by other things.

Now this is just a coincidence but my polish matches my sweater today.

My eyeliner is the same dark teal color. Odd angle but you get the idea.

How was your weekend? What did you eat?

My weekend was much too short (preaching to the choir I know). Well my weekend with Dave was. He worked 91 hours last week. Yes 91. But it was successful and the client loved what they did. My job is 35 hours a week. (That is full time at a university) and there is never ever any overtime. Since I have mostly worked in academia and other salaried jobs I haven't had the chance to work much overtime in my working career. I honestly don't know how Dave didn't get up and walk out at some point. I don't have that kinda of patience. I admire anyone who puts in that kinda work weekly. My MIL was an accountant and she put in 90 hour weeks all tax season. So I guess where he gets it from. ;) But it was nice for once that he was getting paid to work all weekend when for the past 6 years we were PAYING for him to work all weekend. (school)
I walked past this store this weekend and I fell in love with their mannequins.

How cute would it be to have a dress form with a teddy head to test your outfits on?

And since people like to see them. Weekend cat pics.

I have a non-review review post I need to post tonight. I have all the pictures taken I just need to write it. Hint it is a cheap way to get started "playing" with makeup. It is something I have talked about before in other venues. (so some may already know about it

My dad is like that too - he gets paid for 7.5 hours a day, but he definitely puts in 9-10 hours a day. I've worked public service for the last 5 years, and the minute its quitting time, we're all out the door!

I love teal! It looks awesome on you.

I made (and ate) stuffed potato skins, cookies, chips and salsa, and alcoholic beverages all on Sunday night. I didn't eat very much yesterday because I was still stuffed.

It's easier to do when your time is filled. And for me, when there is a sense of urgency. In the past there was also the knowledge that there was light at the end of a tunnel. Dave, for example, knew there was a deadline and could exert maximal effort to reach the deadline. But there was no such deadline doing disaster recovery. The work was endless, and that made it really tough. Imagine digging a hole in sand, eventually all your progress seems to be countered by cave-ins.

If I ever do it again, and I hope I do, I would join a gym and do that every day. Something has to burn off the adrenaline and tension, rather than destroying your body.

That Daisyboo ring is so awesome. Take /that/ Waffle!

I did a crap load of cooking, well kinda. I dehydrated apples on Friday into apple chips. Delicious. Saturday I made Peanutella and also crepes to take as a dessert at a party. Hmmm, I guess that's all I cooked. Seemed like more at the time.

When I worked with FEMA, our standard week was 80 hours. We needed approval to go over 100. We did that for months at a time, and I quite liked it. I was away from home, and if I had time to sit and think, I'd have missed my family. Even so, I think 80 hour weeks for six straight months is my limit.

I do love teals, especially teal makeup. It's right behind purple which is my very very favorite.

So weekend... it was pretty normal. I went to the CCO (Cosmetics Company Outlet) on Friday, but pickings were slim. My bf and I had an awesome Mexican dinner after. Saturday we went out for a late lunch of gourmet grilled cheese and then used bookstore shopping. Things kept falling off walls and into my head on Saturday, so that was not my favorite day. Sunday was of course the Puppy Bowl, so I stayed home eating veggie burgers and sea salt chips and rooting for my favorite puppies. The kitty half time show was pretty disappointing this year, the kitties all looked scared!

Love all the matchy-matchy-ness in this outfit. I always think of you when I paint my nails. Right now I have dark red/purple/black with multicolored sparkles on top.
