Brights on a sunny day

I had a hard time picking what to wear today. I hadn't really HAD to get properly dressed for two weeks. I just changed into fresh PJs when I showered over break. I got 4 new pairs for Christmas too! I finally decided on this because I hadn't worn it in about two years.

Then I forgot my camera at home! DOH. I knew there was an app that could turn my iphone into a timer camera so I found one and set it up and attempted self photos that WEREN'T in the bathroom mirror. Not to shabby. (the app is called Camera+ and it has a lot of great editing features built in too!) I only get a 15 minute break besides lunch so I need things to be fast fast fast so I have time to write it over lunch. This took me under 5 minutes and that included the stairs and telling it to upload as I ran back down. Good to know for future when I don't have a camera.

and me playing with the effects

For some reason I thought this would make a good picture. You can see my boots better but OY those roots!!

How are you doing today and how was your weekend? What is for lunch?

We laid low this weekend. We both had a cold and didn't want to get gram sick. Our original plan was to spend New Years day in NH with them because it was my dad's birthday. Gram is moving to Florida (snowbird) this week. I know she will have fun raising hell with her sisters but I am going to miss her. She went to a party on New Years and had two margaritas. I stayed home with Dave and the cats.

I love the dress, it's so cheery for a winter day. Your hair looks crazy long in that picture! My weekend was pretty low key. I mostly sat around in sweatpants, mourned the end of my break, and didn't do any of the work I should have done before returning to school. I had pizza for lunch, although it wasn't very good. I hope your Gram enjoys Florida, I bet they have good margaritas down there.

I wonder if she's had the strawberry kind?!

Thanks :)

darling hubby made me lunch today: 2 PBJ sammiches, a bag of sour cream + onion potato chips, and a baggie of honey pretzel sticks. its a lunch fit for a 10-year-old, but bless his heart for doing it. :)

Oh! I never would have known! The newer iPhones take such nice pics compared to the one I have. Great job. It's really nice how they sold that with a jacket. I'd love to see more of that at store.

My weekend was OK, just not long enough! I had to run some errands at lunch but I lucked out cause there was FREE piza in the break room, nice stuff too, not Dominos or Pizza Hut.

That's a really cute dress! And I like your hair much more now. You looks so good with red hair. And it's long and gorgeous and everything my hair will never be!! LOL

And I'm impressed that you got pics like this with your iPhone!

thanks it has taken 3.5 years to grow it this long (growing since that picture actually). I take fish oil and B multi and a multi vitamin and it seemed to help it grow much healthier. My natural hair color is red. It just had much more blonde in it back then.

When you posted that dress to your twitterfeed, i thought 'oh bright!' but i feel like the print has really grown on me. The bright colors against the black is fabulous. I love your key necklace. Also, your hair looks amazing today. Are your bangs a bit shorter?

I'm sortof draggy today. Getting back into the swing of things after the holidays is hard. The weekend was good though. Did a lot of walking, some grocery shopping, movie watching.

Lunch was meatballs in brown gravy over egg noodles. A collaborative effort between me and the Hubs. Not bad, but I am stumped for dinner.

over vacation I tried TRIMMING my bang with the arch in the middle and pulling some to grow out because over time they had got uneven and too much. I totally screwed them up and had to hack the whole thing short but i still have two long sides that are long enough to tuck behind my ear that I am going to grow out. So yes they are shorter and no it wasn't intentional :( Dave usually cuts the swoop but I didn't want to bother him. Lesson learned. wait for dave if I want swoop.

Did I hear someone mention your bangs besides me??? Glory be! That allows me to comment on the flipped out hair from the previous wearing and to suggest that I approve of the length; "if it can't be bobbed, it can be flipped" my grandpap used to say.

I like the dress. So vivid! It looks like your app cranks the saturation to the stops, but whatever, I like the photos. Are those possibly the same boots in the earlier wearing?

For lunch I had Chinese buffet, which threatened my diet (I'm eating half portions). I did OK, I think, and got this fortune:

"You will enjoy doing something different this coming weekend."

Around here, we append "in bed" to fortunes, but that is inappropriate this time since my wife is going out of town.

The first and the makeup photo are straight out the camera the other one I fussed with and bumped it. My dress IS really bright and I was standing in sunshine but yeah it totally freaked out a little from the color but what do we want its supposed to be a phone. ;P

I didn't post the flipped bangs on the blog your just special and saw that photo on the day I cut them then tried to style them. I was waffling if I should post those pics. They are all here is us and here is food. We are fun and eat food. **snore**

I find it interesting to wonder what photos you will post and what you will not. Most people are happy to be boring, but not you... you post zany photos instead and hide the mundane ones.

You are an enigma, and all the more fun for that.

hillary said...

now see I feel like I don't even post the zany ones! My phone is full of 1400 pics and I probably have only posted half on flickr and 5% on facebook and maybe 20% on the blog. I also don't share a lot with the PUBLIC flickr and facebook are strictly a small group of people I actually know. Also I don't like to post anything of dave without running it by him. I have tons of photos of him just waiting. heeee

Aww well, for what it's worth - i think they're super cute, if unintentionally too short.

Wow that dress is awesome, I love pieces that can be work over and over again.

hillary said...

yay bright! I imagine the bright books behind you and the color effects in the pics make the brightness kinda strange. That being said, I love the print and the way you've winterized the dress.

For lunch I had Burger King. I was hungry and in a hurry. Can't be perfect all the time.

LOVE that print, really lovely! You really inspire me to try to dress more professionally/beautifully instead of being so utilitarian all the time.
Monday was not bad -- it was kind of a drag to be back at work, except that 'Laff Olympics' was mentioned as an inspiration for a project we're working on, and I had not thought of that cartoon in eons! I had to go home and YouTube it. Then my sweetie made me a great dinner and dessert, so the evening was lovely! Ditto for the weekend -- all food and wine and snuggling :)
Lunch was red and orange bell pepper slices with hummus, and a clementine for dessert. And I have set an alarm on my phone to try to remind me to drink enough water.

I feel like the people i work with don't take me seriously at all because of it. No one thinks I am capable and all I am is fluffy clothes. **grumble** thank you :)
