Blizzard manicure

If you haven't already heard Boston was slammed with a blizzard today *happy dance* and I had the day off and Dave had to work from home.

I haven't done a konadicure in awhile so today was the perfect day for one. I had painted my nails blue on Sunday night so I used that as the base.

I used the leopard print stamp.

I used a dark brown color for the spots.

I then used the small brush and gold polish to put little gold blobs on the brown spots. This is what it looked like before cleanup.

I put a coat of Seche Vite clear to seal it and dry it in about two minutes. I cleaned up the sides with a q-tip dipped in remover.

I am happy with the results but I wish the brown looked more brown and less black.

Oh and we ate this. Dave made this last night.

It was amazing! Recipe here.

Two little things I've discovered lately that seriously prolong my manicures.

Painting the tips, the very edge of your nail. I saw a manicurist do it and it really helps. Just a quick swipe of the top coat.

Shorter nails. This is probably a duh. I always had long nails and since I've been cutting them I notice I get much longer out of a paint job. I think because I am so hard on my nails and they would bend and chip.

The nails are cool, the pixelation is weird, but the BACON!

It's totally weird. Especially since they are fine when you enlarge. I'm gonna pull them and replace them. Candied bacon =noooom

Love the nails. I am always so jealous. I just haven't had the cash to spare for a Konad setup and the few times I have, I've forgotten and bought something else (that I probably didn't need)

Minimum I think it would be $12 for one stamp and one plate. Or about $23 for the 21 plates on amazon and $6 more for the stamper. but I wonder if ebay.....

Your nails are awesome! I've noticed manicurists doing the edge of the nails before, but I never actually tried it myself . . . I think I will now.

That's honestly not bad. I think I would just want to go for the bigger set at once, I just need to remind myself to get it. Usually your posts are what make me think about it. I liked the one where you said that no one needs to say they don't have the patience because it doesn't even require patience. That's basically what sold me on needing it.

I totally adore your nails !!!
I agree with you, polish in shorter nails does last longer.
