Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B

This morning there was this guy who stopped at the end of the street like 6 feet away and just STARED. Wicked rude. He wasn't staring and smiling. If he had been maybe that would of been OK.

So I had to give him something to stare at.

IMG_1987

Then I thought this would be cute/witty. We do live on the water and all.

IMG_1993

Then I realized I looked like a complete tart so I started singing Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy quietly and was dancing to it thinking that would save me.

Through all this Dave didn't ask once what I was doing. Ha. He just kept taking the pictures.
and because when I am overtired I can't stop moving I ended it by jumping off the curb.

IMG_1991

And I am wearing these shoes.

That is not a recent photo if you haven't noticed I have "stock" accessories photos I plug in as needed. I always get questions on the manicure on this one. I don't remember even doing it but it's globby flowers so I am 93% sure I did it. I usually do it when I break a toe nail to cover up the split. (I broke my toe in highschool and the nail has never been the same)

This is the dress the lovely people at Shabby Apple gave me. Read about it and see cute pics here

I can update this with makeup photos if you are interested.

EDITED TO ADD

Sat we went to lunch. I asked Dave if the front camera on the iphone also shot video. Apparently it does. (I knew it did facetime but I didn't know if it recorded. I just had never tried)

Oh this is worth sharing too. We had to take Daisyboo to the vet on Saturday and $500 of tests later we just heard from vet and my furbaby is OK. Her sugars were great and she won't have to go on insulin. I was so sick over it. I honestly thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown in the car on the way there. She was crying and crying and we were in traffic. She hates the car so much she cried the entire way. She was sniveling by the time we got there. We ran into someone Dave knows and she even was saying "oh the poor baby" as Daisyboo cried the entire time waiting for our turn.  In the room when they were doing the ultrasound and sticking a needle into her and you could see it going in on the monitor and I was shaking. I could feel Dave watching me the entire time waiting for me to pop. But once we were in the room and they were shaving her and doing all the needle poking she didn't say BOO. She didn't try to get up, she didn't cry, she didn't do anything. She is SUCH a good girl. They all loved her there. She also didn't say anything the whole car ride home. Once we were going up stairs she started crying again. I let her right out and she ran and hid for a few hours.

My you smell... unique

I have horrible allergies yet I LOVE perfume. I love walking into a department store and sniffing bottles. My mom is a BIG perfume wearer and it is a frequent gift from her (and Dave). I really like oils because I like mixing up my own concoctions. Every once in awhile I would order a handful from Ebay (usually under $5 a piece) and I mix and match depending on my mood. Last January I had a custom oil made at an apothecary in Newburyport MA. It was around $40 so it wasn't cheap but it was also a great deal.... Until I found Peepshow Perfumes on Etsy! For $7 (YES SEVEN!!) dollars you can have your own 1.8oz oil custom made! You can pick up to 6 notes!

Weekend roundup

Friday I met up with this cute guy I found on a bench.

FYI PF Changs FINALLY listened and now have a mini gluten free dessert. He was very anxious to try it as you can see. Couldn't even let me get a picture.

Days later I found this photo on my phone. Apparently he liked it. I didn't even notice him take it. You can see my hand in background.

Saturday we went for a drive to Wooodman's and too the mall. He got me malt vinegar. Which I appreciate because not only can he not have it he has always hated the smell. I think it smells WONDERFUL

Sunday I FINALLY dyed my mop.

I am officially up to 3 boxes. I have been dying it this exact same color from Feria since it came out in 1997 (off and on) and every time it comes out a tish different. I think because of how long it takes me to put on and how long I process.

Oh and we got our Sunday Sundae.

Yeah so like we need an excuse. Technically neither of us should be eating dairy but that is neither here nor there.

And there was LOTS OF HOMEWORK in between. It feels like it was all weekend. BUT I AM NOT COMPLAINING. I can say I don't like that he already has homework and THE SEMESTER HASN'T STARTED. Oh and the teacher? Yeah she is on vacation and isn't answering email. Awesome right? (grumblegrumble)

What did you do this weekend? Most importantly what did you eat?

An award.

I have been less than timely lately regarding blogger duties. I would like to thank Melissa from A Working Mom's Closet for the Stylish Blogger Award she gave me. Thank you Melissa.

Since I took so long to post it instead of 5 I am giving you 10 things about me. I have a theme too. A peak into the "more creative" part of my mind.

1. I love Miley, Mary-Kate, Ashely and Posh and ESPECIALLY Tori.

2. I am trying to grow my hair out to what I like to refer to as Mermaid length. I directly attribute the desire to my love of Waterhouse and Mucha paintings.

3. I read Dear Theo and the Andy Warhol diaries in middle school. I had a thing for artist diaries. I was fiercely addicted to Warhol. When I was in 7th grade my step dad and I skipped school one day and he took me down to Boston (big city!) and we went to Warhol exhibit at Museum of Fine Art.

4. A few years before on a school trip to the MFA I became infatuated with this statue. Degas' Dancer (I took this about 6 years ago on a cellphone.

My favorite statue.

She isn't always on display. The cold hard bronze with the soft pink fabric. The pairing of those stroked my young mind. I still love it as much as I did when I was 10.

5. As a freshman in college I had this wacky professor that had us compare Billy Budd Sailor (Herman Melville) Interview with a Vampire (Anne Rice) Cities of the Red Night (William S Burroughs) and the 4 Alien movies. (the fourth came out that semester) I thought the teacher was certifiable. I fell in love with Burroughs that semester though. I only now 13 years later appreciate how deliciously brilliant that teacher was.

6. Roald Dahl is my favorite author of all time hands down. No comparison. I was 10 when Matilda came out and I seriously thought it was about me with a few name changes. My mom has called me Matilda for the past 22 years because of it. (also my online persona)

7. I was always drawn to the artistic broken boys. But I wasn't like that in with real life boys.(edited to say OK OK maybe I was) James Dean, Jackson Pollock, Jim Morrison, William Burroughs (hello he played Willam Tell!), Jack Kerouac, and DEAR LORD ROBERT DOWNEY JUNIOR. If they weren't broken I didn't like them.

8. I miss my art. I have never ever refereed to myself as an artist. The longer I go without doing it the more I am inclined to say it. I think it is my mind willing it to be true.(aka guilting myself into making something)

9. The piece I am most proud of was my impossible room

picnikfile_dr7yVo

I wish there was secret footage of Dave and I making it. I would of made my carpenter dad weep a little. But I did it and it looked AWESOME. The hardest part was getting the sheet rock and door from the hardware store to the studio.I had wired a tape player to the door frame so when the door was closed the button was pushed and you could hear someone whispering and the light was on the second you opened it, it all stopped.I wanted my family to see it so bad but no one was interested.

10. I officially "took a break" from grad school 2 years ago.I don't think I will ever be going back. At least not photography.
