It is my friday. HAPPY DANCE

Last day of my summer schedule. Hopefully Dave and I can get back into taking photos in the morning on a real camera. I don't know why I haven't been carrying my camera in my bag being as I have carried one for about 4 years now. (right about the time I started my photography degree in grad school) can you tell I dropped out?

Not feeling my aesthetic best today. But I like my palette of colors and my makeup.

A bit bosomy of a shot but you see my shirt and necklace (H&M and Marc Jacobs)

Oh and here is my watch. Gift from MIL it's from Target

And das shoes

I have noticed that when I am not feeling my best whether it is body wise, looks wise or whatever I gravitate to red. I think it is my comfort food of the color word. Do you have a color that does that for you?

A small PS.
I entered a contest.

I apologize but I am going to shamelessly plug that I am in the Mad Men Casting Call contest and you can vote once per day until September. I WANT TO WIN. It takes two clicks. One on the link. (which I also put in the top right sidebar of my blog) and another click on the "vote" button below my photo.

So please vote early and often.

Thanks you all so much in advance

REVIEW Aveeno Positively Nourishing.

photo 2.JPG

A few weeks ago Lucky Magazine partnered with Aveeno and gifted me with 2 new items from their Positively Nourishing line.

The Positively Nourishing Hydrating Body Wash in Fig and Shea Butter. First off lets talk about the smell. Oh my sweet fig does it smell good. I could smell it while it was still in the package. I have to say I have never smelled a fig before so I don't know if it smells like it's name but I can say it is a lovely smell and not at all over powering. The smell only lasts a little bit after your shower but if you sniffle your arm real hard you can smell the delicate lingering effects. It foams up nicely and leaves you nice and clean feeling without drying you our or leaving you with a sticky residue. It is moisturizing in that my skin no longer has that itchy dry feeling I was rocking for a few weeks before using this. My husband liked it so much he kinda commandeered it. Because as I said it isn't strongly scented after he really likes it because his workplace is "scent free" but not many people enjoy washing with scent free soap because in my mind scent is an indicator you did a good job. (I know that make no sense) My dad uses a special soap that is for hunters (he uses it year round!) that is supposed to remove all traces of scent and I hate using it when I am at his house!

Next up I tried the Positively Nourishing 24 hour Ultra-Hydrating Whipped Souffle in Shea and Cocoa Butter. This oh where do I start. IT SMELLS WONDERFUL. Not overly delicious smelling (in the way cocoa butter can. Like you want to eat it) it is more subtle and it doesn't overly linger. It is very smooth and smooshy and I have been slathering it all over my legs which  hates everything. Everything gives me a rash on them. This does not! I can actually apply it RIGHT after shaving which I can't do with many other products. It dries very quick and leaves no sticky lotion feeling. The backs of my hands are so soft I pet them like they are little apricots. Dave liked this product as well. He has DH a skin issue and he has to be careful with products and he has not had any flare ups and his hands have stopped cracking.

I will be buying both products again when we run out. While I did get them for free I was not asked to positively review them nor do I receive any compensation other than the free product. I genuinely liked them and think they are affordable and deliver the results they promise in their name. They retail for about $8 (really depends on where you live. Here things can be up to $3 more) and it  can be found in most drug stores (see where you can get it online here). Sign up on their site right now and you can get a coupon for $3 off two products!

See my review also over on Lucky Style Spotter in the Alpha Shopper section.

Wednesday. Yes yes it is.

I am not sure why my face is blurry but I am not. That's what I get for being too lazy to grab a real camera and did ifone pics again. but I REALLY dug my outfit yesterday. The bottom of the shirt is elastic in the waist so it does a nice bubble feel and the flutter sleeves and tie and while I didn't check the tag I believe it is a fabric made with elements found in nature and not scratchy chiffon.

Shirt H&M 2010
Skirt Esprit 2002 I got this skirt for $2 in a going out of business sale. I had just graduated college and needed clothes for work and this I have kept since then.
Shoes Nine West 2010

nine west sandals

Today I had to leave before Dave and again I forgot my camera. But you guys know the dress well. My spotted Marc Jacobs Silk number.
and I have shoes on you can get your own here.

My makeup is nice today.

Since some people asked me what the name of the lipstick Dave loved was I took a picture.

The lipstick is Dressmaker, Dressmaker and the Cremesheen glass is On the Scene. Both available at a MAC counter near you!

I entered a contest.

I apologize in advance but I am going to shamelessly plug that I am in the Mad Men Casting Call contest and you can vote once per day until September. I WANT TO WIN. It takes two clicks. Weekend roundup on a Tuesday

I never understood how some bloggers got so behind posting their outfits a week after they wore them. But now I get it. I am still a post same day person but other things I meant to post A LONG TIME AGO (maybe tonight) are still sitting in my drafts folder. I won't apologize for it as it is my time line I set and I shouldn't be sorry but oy I hate being late.

I swear we do more than eat. I actually have a small appetite. I just only think to take pictures when we are eating because we are both sitting. (and I am ADD and get twitchy)

This weekend. Well it was a 3 day weekend again. I only have one of those left! (we get 4 a summer at my work.)
Thursday night we went out for some Gluten Free pizza at Stone Hearth in Cambridge. It was so crowded we took it to go and ATE IN A PARK.(the one outside Harvard to be specific) We haven't done that in years. Mostly because GF takeout is not a common place thing. (yet)

A highly attractive picture of me eating. My hand is probably blurry because I was stuffing my face I was so hungry. We got bacon and pineapple. They use only locally sourced organic ingredients and on the box it points out what farm they got each ingredient at. I kinda love that.

I love this picture of Dave here. Reminds me of a photo of him when he was 4.

 dave and me

Friday we went to lunch and both ordered the same thing. Got astronaut ice cream at the camping store and went to see Inception.

And somewhere along the way I got a macaroon.

Macarooooon

Saturday Dave got up early and made gluten free glazed apple pie munchkins. He winged them, inspired by a post I sent him with all kinds of wacky donuts.
See the demon in the background?

Then we hit up Newbury street and I got some new lipstick. This picture does it no justice. Dave actually SWOONED how much he liked it and made me stop so he could take a picture to show me. (do you do that? Take a picture of the person your with to show them what you see? Like when Dave tries on a hat in Target for example.)

Fwd: Some photos

Then I stopped in Sweet cupcake shop. How could I walk past? I couldn't. Little did I know I was in for a surprise!

Look who I found inside?! Lisa of Knit Teach Ride!

How cute is she? After I totally embarrassed myself in front of Lisa and her fiance we went for lunch. (yes cupcake then lunch. I have priorities people) I am so socially awkward and I am sorry Lisa! I am just painfully shy. Once I warm up you can't shut me up.

After lunch we were attacked by a gang of cute girls giving lip make overs on the street. (see them over my right shoulder in the daisy dukes?)

Fwd: Some photos

They were from Buxom Bare Essentials "Sexy sister" Above that is me trying to make my lips look inflated. It is a cooling plumping gloss. I got a coupon for a free tube from Sephora which was across the street!

When we got home the border patrol searched all our packages.

Then threatened to punch us.

and Daisyboo forgot who she was for a minute and GOT UNDER THE COVERS AND STAYED THERE. Never happened in 5 years. She does not like things touching her, people picking her up or well anything other than cat food. She is particular and I love her for it. Dave and I kept poking each other and going LOOK LOOK SHE IS STILL THERE!!!!

I made some homemade soda too!

Making homemade cola

There was lots of other stuff but like I said I never think to take pictures when we are moving. Sunday while watching Mad Men I organized my train case. This is not all my pretties. I have more. This is just my train case. I am not apologizing for or making excuses for anything. Don't even try and make me feel bad for it. I WILL moderate your comment. Sorry but I had one too many snarky people make comments on my collections of things. Dude you have your thing I have mine. Deal with it.  I love my pretties.

before.
picnikfile_RzzuRF

A friend asked how I keep track of what I have. Spreadsheets.

What did you do this weekend?

Edited to add. You guys might not know. I have been a Mark rep for 5 years and was Avon for 3. I got a fantastic discount on makeup. That is how my collection grew initially.

I entered a contest. Want to help me win?

Winner gets a walk on role on Mad Men.

If you've been here a few times then you know I love that show. I have since day one. I have done numerous inspired photos over the past 3 years. This year I entered the contest. I normally don't enter things like this because I honestly lack confidence that I can win. This time it is different.

I might not be the prettiest, the skinniest or the tallest but darn if I don't want this more than anyone.
Dude PLEASE vote for me. You can vote once a day per computer ;) (have an iphone? vote again!) You can vote every day until the contest is up. I will love you all forever if you help me out. You don't have to sign up for anything just click!

I have a giant weekend post to write up but I thought I would break them up this time so the people who are here for the outfits don't get annoyed by all those words. (I never ever claimed it was a fashion blog. It is very much a lifestyle blog but I do realize some people are only here for the clothes and that's fine. :) )

Oh yeah and I have on shoes and accessories.

I wanted my nails to GO with the outfit without being a dead on copy. (Which I almost did. red nails, white polka dots and black bows. Dave said it was one step too much) and I love how teal goes with red. They are MUCH more electric green tinged instead of blue in real life. My polish is

I have had a rough week just a lot of stuff all at once and over tired and crabby. I am throwing myself a very tiny pity party. Actually I just have to say it aloud and I feel better so by the time you read this I might of moved on! Last night Dave brought home a little bag of goodies!

Wednesday he brings home Wagagmama for dinner and it's fun because while he is waiting for it sometimes he wanders around Faneuil hall. heee. So for dessert I had astronaut ice cream.

I also got a smencil. Cinnamon.

We had a competition on who could solve the Hillary puzzle first. I won! I never beat him.

Today I ask you.... what is one food you can't stand the smell of?
There are these natural olive oil chips Dave loves and I honestly think they smell like vomit. I can't stand them. I can smell them across a room. Also boiled cauliflower. Someone was eating it at work yesterday and I thought I was going to have to leave the room. I ask because someone in my office makes a coffee everyday and I kid you not it smells exactly like a skunk. Exactly. When I have a migraine like today those smells are so much stronger to me.
