Hey baby it's cold outside

IMG_3294

This sweater coat causes me the same "problem" as cardigans. I don't know how many I want to button and all day do it and undo it.
Sweater $8?($3? it was meant for a gift but was too small so I kept it) at Loft
Scarf Gift from Loft
Jeans Gifted from Lands' End Canvas
Boots Clarks
Turtleneck Target

i like this one

With scarf in freezing office. See caught in the act buttoning it up.

For makeup I did a khaki green and tan eye, dark peach cheek and neutral lip.

I wasn't intentionally not looking at the camera today. I had 86 photos and Dave and I both liked these the best.
Does your work have a holiday party?
Weird question I know because I never talk about work on here. (intentionally. I only show you tiny glimpses of my life that I deem sharable, usually fluffy matter like food and cats.) We had a luncheon on Monday and I missed the work party yesterday. I am not sad I missed it though because I am not good at those things. I am terrible at small talk. My university as a whole is having a party today I think but I don't even know when it is. In the past few years it just kept getting worse so I don't think many from here will even go.

P.S I am trying a new comment system. This one allows me to reply to individual comments and honestly because it has a block feature.  I don't know if I will keep it. I am just trying it out for now. So far I really like it. It is much tidier than blogger system that didn't let you do anything. I haven't had a lot of crazies but I have had a few and I would like to be able to block them. One just keep going the more I asked them to stop. This way I can block and be done!

Edited to add. I look like I can hover in this one.

I love that sweater! It looks so warm and cozy, and it was freezing at my work today . . . well everyday. Speaking of work we do have a party (correction did have a party), and I always enjoy it.

I just thrifted a sweater like that a few days ago! I was so excited since I'm freezing my buns off up here in Canada. :) Cute!

Yes you can I have a blogger blog. It also imported all my blogger comments too! You sign up on disqus and it gives you instructions for blogger. It's pretty easy and worth checking out if you want to reply

I love your make up today!

Is this comment system (disqus?) something you can install if you are hosted by blogger? I'd love the option of replying to individual comments!

Question: Because you wear glasses, do you use more heavily pigmented make-up, or do you just use more product than a non-glasses wearer does? I get my eyes looking good, and then poof, you can't see it because of the glasses. Your eyes always pop!

oh wait, do you have to moderate? I want it to publish automatically.

anyway, will stop leaving random comments here now and just figure it out!

That sweater is gorgeous! And that scarf looks great with it!

Thanks!

They are so cuddly aren't they?

I use a primer and heavily pigmented stuff and often I wet my liner brush and go over the shadow with the same shadow wet to line it. Today I have Chanel and Mac on. I make some of my own pigments too buy Mac is my fave for
Pigmentation. Today I used lime crime primer and that helps A lot. I also use Mac paint primer.

What a beautiful scarf, it really compliments your coloring. :)

My husband's company has a holiday party for couples every year but I stopped going a few years back. We're not drinkers and I really disliked having my husband's loud and drunken co-workers spilling beer on me and getting more obnoxious as the night wore on.

I so get that! I went on a business trip once to Vegas and I saw his coworkers totally differently

My office has a fancy-ish luncheon which means we CAN’T wear jeans on this Friday. Lol. And then my department is getting takeout and watching a Christmas movie next week. We (Nathan and I) have not been invited to a single dressing up party or even a casual party this holiday season or last. It’s pretty depressing actually!

hillary said...

If it makes you feel better I've never been invited to a party ever. Work functions but never a social one. Not even in highschool.

our division of my company had their more formal gala-style party on saturday, but i didnt attend.
my direct office group is having a lunchtime party today, and i will be attending that one. they are usually fun, and the food is great - and FREE!

We had free lunch Tuesday on our bosses dime which is so nice for them to do! she insisted we each have dessert too!

I like that particular cardi with one button. I tend to think smaller buttons need 2-3 buttons done up but larger buttons can get away with one button.

Lacking a job, and now being finished for the semester, I don't have any work parties. Just family gatherings and meeting up with friends when they aren't seeing their own families.

I have one done at this minute. In 5 I doont know though. ;)

I cannot believe you paid that much for the sweater ! What a buy !
I really like your look today, browns/beiges look very flattering on you .
My work its like 6 people so we just get together and order pizza or something.
We keep it simple.

Jan 2009 I got this insane deal on a ton of stuff. Let me find the link of it all

I have the same problem with cardigans - I fiddle with them ALL the time!

My department does a Christmas party that everyone seems to know about (except me) way ahead of the day they actually send around an email (which is also usually about 3 days before the actual party). Since we live two hours away and need advance notice to coordinate going, I still haven't been.

Wanna come to my virtual party? :)

Loooove the scarf! Seems like a really lovely color palette for you.

My work has had parties in the past; this year we are not having one for budgetary reasons. I find it a relief -- I mean, does anyone really enjoy the forced socializing with co-workers? Maybe they do and I am just a grinchy grump.

Our HR director's SO makes fantastic cookies -- his sugar cookies are Martha Stewart-level perfection -- and he brought in a bunch today, so that is the closest we are getting to a party, and that is much more my speed! An infusion of beautiful sugar, right at my desk!

I love it! I'm so installing it now!

You can choose moderate but you can also choose autopublish.

hillary said...

Yes! Can we have cupcakes?

hillary said...

Of course

hillary said...

I feel like carrot cake with lots of icing. And you can bring your new MJ......just don't make me wear an ugly Christmas sweater. Every time I go to the thrift store somebody's in there looking for ugly Christmas sweaters for a jokey Christmas party and I feel sad for all the unloved Christmas sweaters. It's depressing really, like the Velveteen Rabbit for the suburban set.

A) You look great. Did you lighten your hair?

2) My company has an "Employee Appreciation Party" because we are global and embrace all faith traditions. Whatever, PC jerks. But the bonus is that we can now have the party in January when the price is 75% less. You would think that it would allow the company to expand the door prizes or have more drink coupons or better food, but no. Or maybe, not lay people off (despite record profits). No, it means none of those things. It means we have another reason to hate that we have become a publicly traded soulless company.

hillary said...

Ahh! Your hair is to die for! I've basically been in love with it since you first posted after-salon pictures. By the way, you look uber cozy today.

My work had its party on Tuesday, in the middle of the day. Usually, we freak out if there's a gathering right before payday, so the mood was somber. Also, we just had budget cuts, so...no one was into partying. We all got prizes and food, but I still don't like being a social butterfly at events. I get all awkward around people. That's strange, since we're in the communication business.

hillary said...

I wish I'd enjoyed it. I was so selfcOnscious it made me look pudgy I obsessed all day.
My work is cold too. Is it a school thing?

hillary said...

Thanks! I've been growing ot put 3.5 years and lately I'm itchy to cut it! Grass is sleds greener.

hillary said...

I feel bad for ugly clothes too. I don't like carrots but I like the rest. Is it essentially spice cake? I love spice cake.

hillary said...

i have the same issue with buttons! srsly, every time i wear one i spend 5-10 minutes playing with the buttons before i leave the house.

my work has a great holiday party every year. this yr we had a flickr photobooth, a dj, dancing, a meat raffle, and food and drinks. i got to wear a tina turner wig. our dept goes curling every year for the holidays too. it's pretty funny.

hillary said...

That sounds like the best holiday party ever.

hillary said...

I could do spice cake! I have a recipe I've been wanting to try.......I'll practice so that when you come visit, I can make them for you. :)

Last time I colored it was October. That's too bad about your work. Dave's has been laying people off left and right and it's just scary and sad all at once. A few years ago they had lavish holiday parties.
