yeah so um.... last night my aunt passed away. Fourth person we lost this year. It is hard on everyone but I am especially worried about my gram. She lost two siblings and a husband in 6 month span and her other brother was hospitalized yesterday. When it rains it pours huh? My job has been insane lately too. eh. I am not complaining. Really I am not. It puts things into perspective real quick I can say that. Overwhelmed is definitely how I am feeling this week. Some of it was avoidable and just people having poor timing (my work excels at that. They could win awards "worst timing ever 2010") and some was just life and death.

In the midst of all this Dave has had a little health scare last Friday. He is going to be fine I know that we just have to change somethings we are doing. He is so funny sometimes he is so good when I need him the most that I almost miss it. This morning we got coffee together before we headed off in our opposite directions to work. He takes my coffee from me and runs over to the sugar station and dashed cinnamon on it. I was totally confused. He was smiling and says in his little kid voice "and a sprinkle of cinnamon) (his female impersonation always sounds 5. I blame it on my small voice) It took me until we were on the corner about to leave when I realized why he had done it and said "Are you my Jim?" to which he said "of course silly". (Pam and Jim on the Office.) The little things that make it seem OK.

Do you have any plans for the weekend?
Dave had homework (blaaaaaaaaaaaah) but we plan to try our hands in GeoCaching! Check out the comment section on Wednesday's post if you want to learn more. My friend Dave H (not to be confused with my Dave S) told me about it. It sounds like so much fun. I think tonight Dave is making chicken finger and fries. HIS ARE THE BEST EVER. I will try and avoid shopping this weekend too if I can because my birthday is in 5 days and I have had the bad luck of buying something I end up getting for my birthday! Doh! I am really excited for next week too. Lots of fun stuff. I am going to NYC! wooot! I have a scheduled lunch date with commenter (and good friend Chunkstyle! She sent me a calender invite. LOVES IT) I plan to eat lots of cupcakes and blame it on my birthday! I also hope to go one some tiny road trips with Dave! I also hope there are LOTS OF NAPS!! Poor Dave had a big presentation last night and was up until 2:30- 3:00am everynight this week and then getting up at 6:00am to go to work and school and do it all over again. Poor thing is exhausted!

I'm so sorry for your loss, Hillary. My prayers are with you and your family.

You and Dave will have fun geocaching! Two Bostonian friends of mine are tying the knot next weekend and they have a special 10-10-10 geocache coin that they are giving out as their favor. I think it's really cool and quirky, like them. This weekend we'll be watching some college football and I'll be getting ready for my work trip to Atlanta next week. Hope Dave gets some rest this weekend!

I'm sorry about your aunt...a lot of things to go through for you and your family. But from reading your blog, it seems like you are a really tight community and support each other marvellously...I'm sure this helps.

As for Geocaching, it IS fun! I'm sure you'll enjoy it lots. :)

I'm so sorry about your aunt - this is quite a year for your family. You and your family will be in my thoughts.

I've always wanted to go geocaching! This weekend we will be going to an art fair and hopefully do some hiking.

I'm sorry for your loss, especially for your gram. I know you do, but I'm sure your extra love will lend her strength.

Sorry too about Dave. I hope he will be fine. He's practically a national treasure!

AFA geocaching, you will have a great time. Just manage the frustration level! LOL We call non-geocachers "Muggles", and I am always surprised how many Muggles know about geocaching. It's a side-game to find the cache without letting the muggles know about it. Be stealthy! It's part of the fun!

My weekend plans were wrecked today (I'm off today) because of unexpected auto repairs needed. Tomorrow we are volunteering at a "full scale drill" somewhere--a simulated disaster, can't say where. Then it is homecoming dance night for the daughter. Sunday is still open, in case I survive Saturday.

You have a fun one, and hug hubby tight!

Oh Hillary, I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt. I've been thinking about you and your family a lot in the past few months, and I'm just so sad for you all. It's just impossible to lose someone, much less multiple people, all in a row.

All the hugs in the world.

Your blog is a delicious find. Thank you. I am sorry about your aunt. I love the cinnamon story. This weekend we are going to my favorite place for wings to watch the Virginia Tech game (accordingly, there is something in it for both me and my husband) Enjoy the cupcakes. Eat many.
