Pink lemony goodness

Iphone photos so pardon the color shifting. I had better outfit photos but I liked this. I usually make a face or wave at Dave to say I am ready to be done with the photos. Sometimes I throw gang signs. (when in reality I am an exact copy of all my cousin's facebook pictures. Why do they think this is cute?)

Tanks H&M 2009

After work I decided to check out a new (to me) bakery I saw on Felicity Lingle's blog on Monday.

At 5pm they were pretty picked over. Which I saw as a very good sign.

I settled on a pink lemonaid. (with a red velvet for later. Later ended up being breakfast today!)

Ah nature's Ativan. Up until this point I had been having a REALLY bad day. I know you should never use food to cheer yourself up but damn if it didn't make it all go away.

Oh and I got a shot. Chocolate cup filled with vanilla bean frosting. I think Dave's exact words were "What the fuck is that?" Said very JEALOUSLY.Normally I feel bad when I have gluten around him but you know what? He says he doesn't mind so I ate away. Hey my gram is always baking for him! She always has something on a cake stand when we show up. She never makes things for me. :P

How is your Wednesday? In honor of Marie Antoinette, What is your favorite cake flavor?

Word is she never even said her famous cake quote but that is neither here nor thereeeeeeeee. I think spice cake would be mine. My wedding cake was a spice cake. I also like lemon cake. If you don't like cake you don't have to say that. Simply don't answer. :)

Sweet also has a location out by me in Harvard Square... it's cute for sure, but I guess I just love homemade goodies best!

I loooove carrot cake and made a huge fancy one for my birthday last year!

I wish there were bakeries around here that made cupcakes. All we get are regular cakes and pastry.

I love carrot cake too! I've made one for my bday every year since I was 15 (I think I'm finally getting good at it,too Hah)

Oh you reminded me! I forgot to mention my new polish my friend made her dad buy for me when we was in germany! The only thing neater than polish is FOREIGN polish. (I am such a sucker for that stuff)

So far my Wednesday is pretty good...I was super productive at work yesterday so I'm not stressed today, which is kind of a miracle. :-)

I love cake so freaking much. My all time favorite cake is probably our wedding cake, which was an almond liqueur white cake with amaretto buttercream frosting. OMG. I'm drooling just thinking about it. White wedding cake in general may be one of my top 3 cakes but that one was the best ever, not even just because it was mine.

i have cake on the brain, since we are going to a few cake-tasting this weekend in planning for our wedding!
i am hoping to have at least one layer of spice cake or carrot cake -- something autumny.
i also love red velvet, coconut cake, strawberry shortcake... honestly, really anything but chocolate. i have never really been a fan of chocolate cake.

Wednesday...I am not enjoying it so far. Massive headache.

Cake. Yum. The cupcakes look scrumptious! My favorite cakes though would be (a) carrot and (b) coconut.

I think I need a cupcake now. ;)

I may have to order my own Lands' End shirtdress because I keep seeing them everywhere right now and I want one too!

I love German chocolate cake. There's just something about that coconut and chocolate combination that I adore.

head to sears and try it on! That's where I got mine.

Hillary,
I'm so glad you went to check it out, it's too bad they don't do a gluten-free cupcake.

My favorite cake flavor is carrot.

my favorite cake of all time is german chocolate. yummmmm. I also really love carrot cake. both of these loves include the delicious frosting that accompanies them. cake sans frosting is not for moi! oh, unless it's pound cake.

Ach, you've made me hungry for sweets! And I wish I'd worn my LE shirt dress today so we could've been twins.

I think I am the only one who doesn't like carrot cake. Well I would like it without the carrot, which is essentially spice cake. Which I LOVE!

That dress looks amazing on you and those cupcakes look delicious. My favorite cake is cheesecake, but lemon is a close second. I always eat cake on Bastille Day regardless of Marie Antoinette's statement b/c it's my birthday. I'm leaning towards cheesecake for tonight, but we'll see, I like to be open to all cake possibilities.

I'm not crazy about carrot cake, but I love the cream cheese frosting.

I drooled when I saw that bakery at Felicity's blog too!

My favorite is red velvet, but I don't turn up my nose at many flavors to begin with. I don't usually like lemon cake, but it's Erik's favorite so I kept tinkering with it and I finally found a recipe that I like too.

A little weird but my FAVORITE is my mom's red velvet, iced with vanilla and then saran wrapped and left on the counter overnight. I like her cakes best the morning after.

Happy Birthday Darling!I won't ask how old because I might cry. You must have cake today! Infact I think I need cake for you.
This branch is on Newbury if you have a hankering some day!

I don't like carrot cake either. My favorite is probably chocolate with peanut butter or caramel buttercream. Must be buttercream.

My day is actually going pretty well. I managed to snag a room at the hotel where I'll be taking the bar, so that will make my life a little easier in two weeks.

Gorgeous cupcakes, you had me at the lemony. I love all cake, and prefer it to any other sweet. Any flavor is fine by me, but vanilla and my grandmother's homemade vanilla frosting is the bomb.

That dress is fabulous!

As for cake flavours, well, we're in the midst of figuring that out for our wedding. I can't wait for the weekend we get to go from one shop to another for all the tastings! I'm more excited about that than the wedding!

Yes to gang signs. Yes to cupcakes. Nom nom nom.

Oh, YUM.

I need to find a place that does SHOTS like that. Bliss!

My favorite is plain, old birthday cake. Yellow cake, white frosting. Love it!

And any kind of wedding cake. I keep telling my co-worker that she needs to get married just so I can go to a wedding and have wedding cake.

Ugh. Now I want cake. Darn it!

Ohhhhhh that cupcake looks soooo good. I am in love with the "shot" though. That is GENIUS. As a frosting freak I am drooling. BTW your nail polish looks divine in that picture!

I really have to find a good cupcake bakery. I went to "Cupcake Jones" last time I was in Portland Oregon but there is nothing around here. I shall just have to dream. ;-)

BTW red accessories are just heaven on you!!! That whole look is terrific really.
