As seen on TV redux

So as I mentioned the other day I actually got 3 "As Seen on TV" items. I had to test one out for a whole day before I could give it a fair review.

Strap Perfect
On tv it retails for $19.99(plus shipping) and you get 6 strap thingys. 2 black, 2 beige and 2 clear.

At Bed Bath and Beyond you get the same 6 for $9.99 and you get a 24 piece box of Hollywood fashion tape. (You know the stuff that you use to tape your dress to your boob to keep it from popping out)

When I first saw Strap Perfect on TV I yelled I NEED THAT to my husband. The bra size I wear fits me perfectly but in a month when the bra starts to stretch out it is too big for me. I tighten the straps down all the way and still constantly am pulling the straps up. This is not such a big deal in summer, but in winter when you have on a turtleneck, sweater, scarf and wintercoat and your walking to the subway and you feel your strap fall and your boob trying to make its way out. Yeah not so easy to adjust. I tried going down a size and it was WAY too small. Who knew there was such a big difference in a one size.
What Strap Perfect does is hook onto each strap in the back and hold them together. Creating a racer back bra. (which are SO hard to find a good one) What you do is loosen the straps and slide the Strap Perfect on and down into place on your back. Sounds easy? I could not do it myself.. Oh man I tried. and then embarrassed and with sore arms trying to contort myself I asked for help from the husband. Bless him he asks as hes helping "so how you like it'?" How do I know yet?! ha. One of the claims on the box is you can slide it up or down to accommodate different types of dresses and tops. If you slide it too far up I noticed that it showed in the front when wearing a boat neck top. I was leery on the comfort level at first as it is hard plastic.

So its the end of the day and I think I love it. I didn't have to adjust my straps all day. The only thing is my straps were bugging me where my neck meets my back. I think this would be easily remedied if tomorrow I loosened the straps more and slid the Strap Perfect down a little lower. The main claim to fame of it is that it "enhances you a cup size instantly" I don't know about that, I don't need help in that area but it did hold them up higher than nature does. (damn gravity)

I love that you have made yourself the As Seen on TV guinea pig lately! I think I may just have to make a trip to BB&B this weekend!

fantastic! i, too, have a strap slippage problem, mostly caused by bigguns stretchin the heck outta my bras (and me being too poor to spring for new ones! I actually think one of the first flickr conversations we had was when you told me that a bra's elastic was only meant to last a year or so!)

i love a racer back, but tend to hate a front hook, because i like FULL coverage, so this may be my perfect accessory. PLUS, Hollywood Fashion Tape is an awesome bonus- the only reason I ever get to wear anything that buttons up!

thanks for the tips, lady!

I have to admit, I used to do sortof this with my bras. I would tie a piece of ribbon around the straps, and put it on over my head and then fasten as usual to create a racerback. This would be a LOT easier to undo in the event I want to use a bra straight-strapped.

I have something like this and like it for making bras into racerbacks - granted, I've since actually bought myself some convertible bras so I don't have to do this anymore, but I still have them around somewhere for emergencies!

But your complaints about everything getting stretched out in a month and the straps not being tightened enough makes me think that you're not wearing the right size bra to begin with. It sounds like your band is too big!

I have been professionally measured MULTIPLE times. They have all said the same size, so I take it as right. I actually saw a National Geographic history of the bra on tv (thats whats anna is talking about above) and it went from growing fibers to wearing and Bras are only intended to last 90 days and the elastic breaks down.
ALL bras do this to me. $60 dollar ones $10 ones. I think one the big problems is I am petite and the staps never get small enough.
I am a 34 dd and because of the issue I tried everything from 32 to 38. 34dd is perfect for like a month then not so much

FWIW, I've been "fitted" several times by people who told me I'm a 34DD, when in reality I'm a 30H. If they don't have your size in stock, most places will tell you that your real size is something they have - and most places stop at a DD cup. But if this gizmo helps, yay!

Definitely agree about the 90 days, though. Ugh!

(I hope you know I'm not trying to insult your bra fitters or you, I'm just on a one-woman crusade to try and get everyone I know in the right size bra, so I carry a soapbox with me everywhere I go ;-) )

Thank you for trying this out and giving a review. I have seen them and have been interested. I will have to check them out. Which also leads me to realizing I should get professionally sized. I question if I am really wearing the correct bra size.

@kelly no worries! We all have our causes! It wouldn't hurt to try again.

wow, lotsa comments on this one, hill! i've never been fitted professionally, mostly because the boobs I have are about 80% bra to begin with. okay, not true. at my heaviest i was a solid 36C and normally have always been a 34B. until now, when i think i've dropped down to a sad 34A but i don't know because i haven't bought any new bras in...months? anyway, my straps have always slipped, no matter what size i am, because i have really sloped shoulders so there's nothing for them to catch on. to remedy this, i did one of three things, depending on the situation. one: looped my straps through a large-ish safety pin in the back, two: just wore a dance bra, three: wore no bra at all

done ranting. glad you found a solution, maybe i could make use of these...
